GAYATRI MANTRA
The Gayatri Mantra is the most popular Indian mantra. For many Hindus is the mantra - usually in the form of singing - for daily prayer. The mantra does not turn to a particular deity, but to the sun as a representation of the Most High.
The text reads as follows:
Om tat bhûr bhuvah suvah
savitur verenyam
bhargo devasya Dhimahi
dhiyo yo close pracodayât
and means
Om, We meditate on the splendor of the venerable divine, the ground of the three worlds, earth, sky and the heavenly places.
May the Supreme Divine enlighten us, that we know the highest truth.
Many national and international artists, the Gayatri Mantra have been nachgesungen, but the best version for me is the original recording of Sai Baba, an old Indian guru.
"However, as you do will be," says Baba, "God is beyond time" and so no one is bound strictly to the rule of threefold repetition at times! It can all be repeated at any time during the day or the night, while bathing, cooking, walking or traveling, driving a car.
The benefits from the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra is vast and incomparable:
first Gayatri protects sharpens your body, mind, and improves the power of your language.
second It cleans and clears our minds and our bodies and makes us enlightened ones.
third It relieves all suffering.
4th It protects us from all misery (misery) and damage.
5th It erases our daily karma which we charge again and again.
6th It satisfies all our request and prepare all that is beneficial for us achieve the goal of our human life - freedom.
